Intentionally Bred. Purposefully Raised. Carefully Matched.
Exceptional Golden Retrievers aren't produced in quantity. They're raised with purpose.
Country Pearls Goldens is a small, family-raised Golden Retriever breeding program in Holyoke, Colorado, specializing in thoughtfully planned, health-tested English Cream Golden Retrievers.
We don't breed simply because it's time for another litter.
Each breeding is carefully considered with health, structure, temperament, and the future of the Golden Retriever in mind. That means we may only raise one or two litters in a year—and sometimes families have to wait.
We believe the right puppy is worth waiting for.
Our puppies are born and raised in the heart of our home, where they receive intentional early development, training foundations, extensive socialization, and the individual attention possible only with a small breeding program.
And because temperament matters every bit as much as beauty, we don't simply let families choose a puppy by color or birth order. We get to know our puppies. We get to know our families. Then we carefully match the two.
Health. Temperament. Purpose.
That's what makes a Country Pearls Golden.
Why Families Wait for a Country Pearls Golden
We don't believe the goal of breeding is to have puppies available. The goal is to produce Goldens worth waiting for.
💛 Temperament Comes First
A beautiful Golden may catch your eye, but temperament is what you live with every day. We breed first for the qualities that make a Golden truly special—stability, confidence, gentleness, trainability, and that unmistakable desire to be with their people.
Our years of living with, training, and working alongside therapy dogs have shaped what we value in our breeding program. We aren't simply trying to produce beautiful Goldens. We want to produce dogs capable of becoming extraordinary companions.
🐾 We Breed With Intention
We don't breed simply because we have a female available or because families are waiting.
Every potential pairing starts with one question: Do we believe these two dogs can produce something worth carrying forward?
We're okay with that. We consider temperament first, along with health, structure, pedigree, and the strengths and weaknesses of each individual dog. If we don't believe a pairing will move our program forward, we wait.
Sometimes that means fewer litters. We're okay with that.
The right Golden is worth waiting for.
🩺 Health Matters
Great temperament deserves a healthy foundation. Every dog considered for our breeding program must meet our health standards before we make the decision to breed.
We use breed-appropriate health clearances and genetic testing to help us make thoughtful, informed breeding decisions. We also look beyond a single test result—considering pedigree, longevity, family history, and the overall health of the dogs behind each potential pairing.
No breeder can guarantee perfect health. What we can promise is that we will do our homework, be transparent about our dogs, and never knowingly compromise our standards simply to produce a litter.
Healthy Goldens begin with responsible choices long before puppies are born.
🏡 Raised as Individuals. Matched With Purpose.
From the moment our puppies are born, we are getting to know them as individuals. We watch how they respond to new experiences, how they interact with people and littermates, how quickly they recover from challenges, and the unique personalities that begin to emerge.
Our puppies are raised in our home with intentional socialization, early learning experiences, confidence-building activities, and plenty of everyday family life. Our goal isn't simply to prepare puppies to leave us—it's to give each one the strongest possible beginning for the life ahead.
As they grow, we learn which puppies may thrive with children, enjoy an active lifestyle, have potential for therapy or service work, or simply want nothing more than to be someone's devoted companion.
That's why we don't believe choosing a puppy should come down to coat color or who happens to be available when it's your turn. We get to know our puppies. We get to know our families. Then we work to bring the right two together.
Because finding a wonderful home for a puppy isn't enough. We want to find the right home for that puppy.
