Happy Trails started when…

I was just a little girl visiting the local humane society. Nothing about it seemed “humane” to me. I teared up as I walked the rows of anxious faces looking at me with sad, wishful eyes on a cold and damp concrete floor. I thought to myself, how does anyone just leave you in here? Why those sweet, furry faces didn’t have someone to love and curl up next to was confusing to me. I began Country Pearls so I could head off the problem of unwanted dogs coming into the world. I wanted to make better dogs and stay in touch so that “my” dogs never ended up in shelters, but were loved forever. So now I would also like to get involved in the trenches as well. Helping animals who have been left behind, find their person/people, their family to call and make their own. My goal is to, through careful application process and vetting, get these dogs out of shelters and into homes who choose them forever. I will do the matchmaking, the pre-training if needed, and follow ups. Just as I do with the puppies I help bring into this world. I want to do the same for the least of these.

So now, why should you trust and choose me to do this for you? Why not just run out and pick the dog you think is the cutest or best for you? I have years of experience in raising and training dogs. I have been around them my whole life. They all have their own personalities and quirks. Sometimes there is a reason that dog is in the shelter and I want to help this be successful for both you and the dog. I have loved dogs my whole life and I am so excited to go on this journey with you. I can’t wait to get follow up pictures of you and your new pup! Happy Trails!!
