June 4, 2023!!

Luna and Castle’s anticipated litter are comfy and settled in their new homes! Seven beautiful puppies were born in the early morning hours. All puppies are reserved. Please inquire on upcoming litters by filling out our application on our “contact us” tab or by calling or texting the number on the bottom of the page. This was Luna’s final litter. She is now retired and living out her years with us, enjoying every moment as she always has. Maisy will be next in line starting next year. More information to come on Maisy.

Attention puppy buyers!!! Responsible buyers only. I hear a lot of the following…”adopt don’t shop” and buying from a breeder leaves a dog in the pound. And you know what, I agree…mostly. There are a lot of bad and irresponsible breeders out there. What is a bad and irresponsible breeder to me? If you don’t…AKC and OFA certify your breeding stock, genetically test your breeding stock, continue education annually, thoroughly vet puppy buyers, limit the amount of times your bitch is bred and ask a veterinarian to examine bitch’s before they’re bred or if you have the knowledge to examine yourself, retire bitch’s at a reasonable age (between 5-7 years old), take a puppy back no matter the reason (no dogs left behind), help a buyer choose a puppy so they get the right one, treat your dogs like family instead of keeping them out in kennels….the list goes on but you get my drift. I am not any of those. I breed to better the breed in health, conformation, and especially temperament. None of my puppies will ever sit in a shelter, rescue, or pound. Never! My puppies are all microchipped before they leave my home and my contact information is permanently attached to them forever. If for whatever reason they find themselves in any of those places for any reason, I’m there to bring my dog home. My puppies will never stay there. Now, I believe irresponsible pet buyers are the real problem! If you are looking to buy a puppy from a breeder, a good, reputable breeder, you will never be able to just walk right in and buy a puppy with very few exceptions. You will 95% of the time, have to wait at least 6 months. Puppy mills and bad breeders are funded and supported by irresponsible buyers who don’t want to wait. Those bad breeders would be out of business very fast if bad buyers would quit supporting them. So, if you are looking for a “right now” dog or puppy, please go to a shelter or pound or rescue and get one there. Those dogs are there at no fault of their own. They didn’t have a breeder like me and my friends who love their dogs and would never let that happen. They came from bad breeders who let bad buyers take a puppy. Not from a home like mine. If you are a new buyer and have questions, ask me. Even if you don’t get a puppy from me, I will help you. My friends will help you. But stop blaming the good breeders, the excellent breeders. Blame the ones who fork over the cash. Buy from and wait patiently for a puppy from a good, responsible breeder or adopt.

How it all works here at Country Pearls…

I take 6 deposits and then hold until the litter is born so I know how many more people will get a puppy. A wait list is made once the deposit list is full and we call down that list the day after puppies are born. Nobody gets first or last pick of my litters. As a breeder, I feel it is my responsibility to match the perfect puppy with each family. Based on your application, I pick out a puppy or puppies that I feel best match your family. I haven’t had a disappointed family yet! I know these puppies well and spend all day and most of the night at times with them. They all mean so much to us and we want them to have wonderful lives with their new families. Puppies go home a around 8 weeks old. They go through a separation anxiety period at about 7 to 8 weeks old and it would be traumatic to put them in a new environment during that period. Once that time passes, they are able to leave. All puppies go through puppy culture staring at 3 days old. We start them with ENS (early neurological stimulation) which is just a couple minutes a day, but it jump starts their brain to start thinking through situations, helps with anxiety and stress throughout their lives and actually improves their overall health making them stronger at fighting illness by strengthening their organs. We also do ESI (early scent introduction) daily with the puppies starting at 3 days old. We simply introduce them to a different smell each day and mark their response. This has been proven to strengthen their sense of smell when they are older. They graduate from ENS & ESI once their eyes all open and at that point we move to introducing them to something new (sight, smell, sound, obstacle….) everyday. Again, it helps them deal with and think through new situations, making them well rounded dogs that are ready and willing to go on adventures with their new family. Puppies all have a vet health guarantee certificate, are dewormed, and go home with nosodes (oral vaccine which is much safer to be administered by the new owner on a weekly basis, this is an option and will be further discussed) before they go home. They are micro-chipped with a lifetime enrollment (paid by us). They are registered through AKC so you don’t have to worry about any of that when you get your puppy home. You also get to pick the names which is a lot of fun for most people or we are happy to pick a registered name for you. We want you to be able to bond and enjoy your first days together! By the time they go home, our puppies are all on the path to being housebroken and have manners and some training under foot. Our children are a big part of training and feeding. Once our puppies reach 4 weeks old, they are well socialized with all different kinds of people and we invite new puppy families out to visit and meet them as well. We do encourage anyone who is interested in a puppy to come see us and meet our dogs. Buying a puppy should be a wonderful experience and you should always fully trust who your puppy is coming from!

What your puppy comes with…

  • ENS & ESI training (see above)

  • Puppy culture

  • Socialization, manding (asking for something by sitting instead of jumping, without being told to sit), weekly nail trimming/grinding, baths every other day

  • Water play and beginning swimming lessons

  • Resource guarding training

  • Car rides starting at 3 weeks old, 3-4 times per week until they go home so the chances of your puppy ever having car sickness is very unlikely

  • Fed a raw balanced diet which is proven to be much healthier

  • Kept in a chemical free home (not even candles lol!)

  • No vaccines given. We send puppies home with nosodes (see above) and leave it up to you on whether you want to do traditional vaccines or use our recommended nosodes. We do deworm puppies with pyrantel as we have parasites in the soil and don’t want them getting sick from that. Here is a video from our veterinarian which explains nosodes if you are interested…https://rumble.com/v2zuhh8-puppy-vaccines.html and https://rumble.com/v301tx0-more-on-vaccinations-and-nosodes.html.

  • Microchipped with account activated and synced to you

  • AKC registration completed

  • APET (Avidog Pet Evaluation Test) done on every puppy. This is how we place puppies with families and pick our therapy puppies. This will help you when training your puppy as we are able to identify weaknesses and strengths in each individual puppy.

  • Crate training

  • Doggie bag with a blanket we crochet for puppies with everyone’s smell, toys, treats and important papers

I may be forgetting something but I believe this is the complete list. Puppies are weighed daily until they are 15 days old and then they are weighed weekly unless there are concerns with that puppy.
